Track your daily habits
Welcome to this short tutorial on how to use and create your own Habit Tracker Template! This guide will help you get started, customize your tracker, and make the most out of its automated features.
Why use a Habit Tracker?
Step 1: Get your copy
Start by downloading the PDF you received from the store. Inside, you’ll find a link to the spreadsheet version of the Habit Tracker.
Click on the link to create your own copy of the spreadsheet — this ensures you can edit and personalize it freely.
Once your copy is ready, you’re good to go!

Step 2: Input your data
When you open the spreadsheet, you’ll notice it’s organized with 12 tabs, one for each month of the year.
Each monthly tab contains two main sections:
-
Daily Habits
-
Monthly Habits
You’ll also find automatic graphs and charts that visualize your progress as you check off your habits.
Step 3: Tracking your daily habits
In the Daily Habits section, you can list up to 20 habits.
For example:
-
Read a book;
-
Play the piano;
-
Go for a run;
-
No phone day.
To add more habits, simply right-click on a cell, choose Insert row above or Insert row below, and type in your new habit.
Each day of the month has a checkbox. Whenever you complete a habit, check it off and the graph above will automatically update to reflect your progress.
At the far right of the sheet, you’ll see a reward section showing your monthly achievement percentage.
For instance:
-
15 out of 30 days = 50%
-
All days completed = 100% (you’ll even see a fun reward emoji appear!)
The tracker also calculates the total completion rate for all your daily habits combined.
Step 4: Tracking your monthly habits
The Monthly Habits section works the same way but focuses on habits tracked weekly rather than daily.
You can list up to 15 habits, or add more rows if needed.
Each habit has four checkboxes, one for each week of the month:
-
1 out of 4 weeks = 25%
-
2 out of 4 weeks = 50%
-
4 out of 4 weeks = 100% (you’ll see another reward emoji!)

Step 5: Monthly reminders
Each tab also includes a Monthly reminders section that is perfect for noting down extra tasks, projects, or goals for the month. You have 15 rows available, but as with the habits, you can easily insert more if you need them.
Step 6: Adjusting dates
Every monthly tab includes a Start date cell. To change it:
-
Double-click on the date.
-
Choose your desired start date from the calendar.
All related dates in the tracker will automatically update, keeping your data aligned with your chosen month.

-
Copy your habit tracker;

Add and customize habits;
